She's done it fifty ways
But she's been off that medicine
For almost fifteen days.”

Sometimes, however, you can convince him to do things out of his (anything but comfortable) comfort zone—like compile a playlist for Homegrown in lieu of a vinyl-themed party they’re trying to throw. But you can be dam sure he won’t do it your way. Send him your required ‘format’ in an email and he’ll scribble stray thoughts on green paper and leave you to decipher them while sending you articles like this in response.
But first, here he is on his relationship with records over the years:
“I grew up listening to records. We called them records or LPs. Today, everyone calls them vinyl. The word vinyl was then too technical and tech, technical, technology was something only those acid heads from IIT Powai knew about. I stopped listening to records after I had sold almost all of them to buy opiates and through the years (the ones that no one wanted) survived. I spent countless hours as a teenager looking through my collection everyday, lending what I wanted to listen to.
LPs/ Records were not all I had. I had cassettes too and we spent many afternoons transferring music from records to cassettes for friends and for myself. Making mixed tapes of the best songs, all on one tape.

Records are special to me because they are music and like many people I know, ‘RockN’ Roll saved my soul. So what is this new found vinyl thing? For me, it is just as natural as turning on your iPod. It’s really about safety. Im safe with vinyl because I know it well, it’s an old friend. Is the sound better?? I don’t know how many people really know about the difference between vinyl quality and CD quality, I don’t give a fuck! But if you put a gun to my head and asked me to choose, I choose ‘records.’
There’s so much said now about the warmth and perfectly imperfect sound quality blah blah blah. If you like listening to vinyl, then do it. If you can afford to buy vinyl, then do it. Holding a record is like making love to the woman of your dreams as opposed to downloading porn and doing yourself a selfie.
