Pune’s Pankaj Advani has won the 22nd world title for India, his outstanding performance at the at the IBSF World Billiards Championship, replicating the identical scorelines of 6-2 against opponent Nay Thway Oo, Pankaj Advani has emerged victorious again making him India’s most consistent sportsperson.
“I am looking forward to the upcoming challenges.” Says Ace cueist Pankaj Advani who’s unwavering determination has ranked him 22nd at the IBSF world billiards. Pankaj has always withstood the vigorous competition in his field. Ever since his return to India from a professional stint in the UK, he has always bagged trophies. “To be honest, I feel as hungry and motivated to win as I was when I won my first world title. The hunger and passion hasn’t diminished at all. It feels special to be able to maintain that It feels special to be able to maintain that position consistently and win title after title over the last one and half decade. I am glad that it’s happening more often than not.” is what Pankaj told the Times Of India.
During the tenure of his last six years as a Billiards player, Pankaj has hence adopted his sixth title. The ace cueist has been awarded the Padma Bhushan, which he was awarded in the year 2018. The Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award in 2005-06. Proving himself to be exceptional and consistent athlete. He has won most of the titles in this sport than anyone in the world making him the greatest and the most consistent cueis in the world. “This 150- format, which is a shorter format in billiards, is very unpredictable. To maintain consistency, in this format especially is an incredible feeling and winning the title for four years in a row. That excites me a lot and I am looking forward to the upcoming challenges.” He said.
