In the age of hyper connections and filtered images of sandwich burritos, there exists a social application that enables its users to take pictures and videos, add digital filters to them, and share them on a variety of social networking sites. Instagram; an application with over 150 million active users, is now analogous to the world of hash tags, Valencia and pedophile moustaches.
In this segment of decoding pop culture, we examine the trending elements of this mobile application that has redefined photo –sharing and social behavior.

Instagram is most widely used to click pictures of food. If you have ever seen someone crouching over their meal at a restaurant, it’s probably because they want to tell the world how good their double cheeseburger looks with an added shade of contrast.
