Like almost any other industry in India, it comes as no surprise that barriers to women’s entry into the Music industry are sky high. For those wanting to be producers to those wanting to be sound engineers - this has largely been a male dominated space, and Wild City are piloting a project that aims to change that - a weekend skills workshop for for women in the industry and those wanting to be.

Sarah Chawla of Wild City has put together a survey that will help determine what skills the workshop needs to focus on. She said, “The aim is to ensure we collect data that will steer the direction that the content will take, ensuring that the program is relevant and intuitive.” It is a simple survey of just eight questions with the promise that it’s quick and easy to complete. We can attest to the same.

“We want to work towards creating a space where marginalised communities get an equal say in the Indian music space and this is our first step. Please take 90 seconds to complete this very simple survey and share it with your female friends once you’re done,” Wild City said in their original story.
