#HGSessions || Orbs & Zen

For the 5th edition of #HGSessions, we decided to trudge off the beaten path a little, only to find that all the paths are converging these days and with good reason too. How else would you explain new kids on the block, Regenerate’s

Orbs & Zen , popping up across the city in a series of events with less than a year of experience behind the decks? People seem more willing to take a musical leap of faith and between that and the increasing number of promoters and venues popping up, the time is ripe for everyone to grab their slice of the pie. And personally, we couldn’t be happier about a wider variety of choices.
Deep House is fast becoming the next genre-trend and while everyone claims to incorporate elements of it in their sounds, this duo happen to be one of the few that stand out. They have since opened for a series of artists from Get Physical records, making their way up the aural food chain and you’re likely to see them perform at a few festivals later this year. This particular HGSessions set mashes up deep, groovy and everything in between, even throwing in a few jazzy elements for good measure.

Here’s what they had to say about it:
“We were excited to put together a set for Homegrown, as it gives us the chance to add in tunes that are difficult to play in a venue. There’s also some of our favorite tracks of the moment. And it’s all woven together with some interesting samples reflecting the thought processes that have influenced us in the recent past.” Turn on, tune in. The rest is up to you.
