Mumbai Police's Hilarious Anti-Drug Campaign Will 'Weed You Out'

While a communication gap between a city’s police and its youth is understandable, the Mumbai police is all set to bridge that divide in the new digital age. Led by Mumbai Commissioner of Police Ahmed Javed’s witty Twitter puns, this force is exploring a whole new medium of communication to make their anti-drug point, and their audience is paying attention. From ‘rolling’ and ‘weed’ puns, to clever word play featuring specially created pictures, their #HoshMeinAao campaign is slowly making the Mumbai Police a must-follow Twitter handle.

In the past, the city’s Police took on Cyber Safety in a similar manner, asking citizens to be aware of online threats through well-timed memes and humour. We tip our hat towards this admirable attempt to reach a younger audience in a language they understand, along with bringing out the serious ramifications of drug abuse in a lighter, relatable way. And we’re not the only ones. Twitter followers commended this ‘punny’ campaign through tweets of appreciation as well, supporting the Mumbai Police and their #HoshMeinAao initiative.
