Who is Six Pack Heroes? : An Interview Reveals All

Screen-Shot-2014-02-28-at-12.09

A few weeks ago, we'd promised to reveal Six Pack Heroes' identity and considering Right Click edition 1 featuring Skream is almost upon us, we can't put off the unveiling any longer. Six Pack Heroes is already an integral part & parcel of the very fabric that makes up India's current EDM scene; one of its shining stars in fact. He just happens to be indulging his musical bipolarity and begging not to be cubed/compartmentalised by his varying genre-preferences.

Here, the lone ranger stands tall and answers a few questions we threw his way. Read on to find out who Six Pack Heroes really is, how he intends to strike a balance between monikers and the sheer unimportance of letting oneself be bound by labels.

1. Who are you?
2. The secret set you shared with us represents a very different sound from what you're known for. How long have you been exploring this other side of the aural realm?

3. Do you hope to expose (and perhaps convert) some of your mainstream audiences to more alternative genres?
4. More importantly, do you believe local artists today almost have a responsibility to do so in a country like ours?
5. How do you plan on taking two entirely different projects ahead and what do you anticipate might be the biggest challenge while balancing the two?
6. Would you say it's your musical background (being raised by an uncle & father who are jazz guitarists), which led you to be more open-minded about music as a whole?
7. You talk a lot about it being essential to be a producer as well as a DJ in the world of electronic music today, could you elaborate on that a little?
8. Do you hope to start releasing original music under your new moniker as well?
9. And finally, what's next for Alias? / Anything else you'd like to add?
10. You've been djing for 5-6 years now, has any part of this shift stemmed from weariness with the current direction of the mainstream EDM world? (If yes, please elaborate)
