13 Year Old Pune Girl Sets A New Record In Open Sea Water Scuba Diving

For a country surrounded by three large water bodies the status that water sports holds continues to remain weak in a cricket-crazed society. Yet, individuals have taken it upon themselves to venture into uncharted territories, and among them is 13-year-old Khushi Parmar who has set a new record in an open sea water scuba diving competition, held in Goa. With a non-stop dive lasting two hours and one minute, Khushi is now the youngest diver to hold such a record in the entire Asian subcontinent. setting herself as the youngest diver in the Asian subcontinent to create this record. It's an amazing achievement which has been registered in the coveted Asia Book of Records, India Book of Records, Unique World Records and the Indian Achievers list.

The competition was held on Wednesday to promote the 'Girls Are Fearless' campaign. As The Indian Express reports, under the guidance of her trainer Venkat Charlo, "Khushi dived for a total of 11 hours and 31 minutes in nine dives in open sea between April 18-23."
