Founded in 2003 by Amanda Sharp and Matthew Slotover, the Frieze London Art Fair is one of the world’s most influential, global and multicultural art events. It takes place annually in The Regent’s Park, in the heart of London London, typically in October. The fair showcases a wide range of contemporary artworks from established and emerging artists, representing various art forms such as painting, sculpture, photography, installation, and more.
Frieze London features over 160 galleries from around the globe, presenting artworks by both renowned and up-and-coming artists. It provides a platform for artists, collectors, curators, and art enthusiasts to connect, discover new talent, and explore the latest trends in contemporary art.
In addition to the gallery booths, Frieze London includes curated sections like "Focus," which highlights galleries with emerging artists, and "Live," which showcases performance-based artworks. The fair also hosts a series of talks, panel discussions, and presentations by leading figures in the art world, providing insights into current artistic practices and critical discourse. It offers a unique opportunity to experience and engage with contemporary art in a vibrant and dynamic setting.
This year, as it celebrates its 20th anniversary, they will be showcasing the works of several celebrated Indian contemporary artists — Amitesh Shrivastava, Amol K Patil, Anupam Roy, Hemali Bhuta, Mahesh Baliga, Munem Wasif, Trupti Patel, Anwar Jalal Shemza, Permindar Kaur, Matthew Krishanu, Simryn Gill, Ali Kazim and Fiza Khatri.
