‘Aamras & Pineapples’ Takes You Back To An 80s Dance Cypher

Meghna Mathew

Unlocking a whole new set of associations that can be made with aamras (mango juice) and pineapples, apart from the memories of summer at our grandparents’ house, are dancers Srilaksmi and Ari Vakharia.

Laying down some serious waacking, locking and freestyle moves, the two dancers do complete justice to the supremely catchy track by RaajaBeats. Srilakshmi says, “The video is inspired by aamras and pineapple, literally. Adi Alamuru and Raka Ashok’s music gave us a vibe and made us feel like an ‘80s mafia couple who likes to cypher. Felt like going back in time and do things that we do today.”

Sure to give you a feel of decades past, the video is all you need to leave all your blues behind.

How else would you find out just how a dance video was inspired by summer fruits?
