With the collapse of a footover bridge at Andheri station early in the morning, railway services along the Western Line have been disrupted. Several people are stranded at the railway station and officials have advised citizens to opt for buses, instead of their usual train route. Casualities have been reported and the fact remains that venturing out in this weather can be extremely dangerous. Road transportation too has been affected due to severe waterlogging in many areas of the city, bringing the traffic to a standstill. The ‘Spirit of Mumbai’, it seems, is being tested yet again.
It is not a panic situation, but if you do face an emergency of any sort, the BMC control room is active and responding to all concerns related to the train schedules, rains, flooding or the city in general. You can also access live updates from citizens themselves on the m-indicator app or follow #MumbaiRains on various social media platforms.
