The recent floods in Assam have so far affected 1,82,583 people, according to the Assam State Disaster Management Authority (ASDMA). While the situation deteriorated only slightly on 9 July, the floods have already claimed over 60 lives. The ASDMA states that 400 villages are currently submerged underwater.
