We recently discovered that all you need to perk up your day a little is a short (and slightly observant) auto ride around Bandra. Possibly the most church-dense zip code in Mumbai, we know we’re not the only ones who lean way out of the confines of our vehicles just to get a glimpse of the bold lettered messages that seem to be speaking directly to you or at the very least, designed to make you crack a smile.
Considering we spend half our lives traipsing through Bandra’s narrow gullis, we thought we’d collate some of the best ones we spotted over the last few weeks with pictorial evidence to boot. From the youthful language and the daily dose of irony without even realising it, you’ve got to give them credit for working hard to stay relevant!
Without further ado, here’s why we love Bandra’s churches:
I. They speak the language of the youth.
II. They have good manners.
III. They’re ironic and they don’t even know it.
IV. They don’t mind admitting that Google’s a close second to God.
V. And just when you least expect it, they rekindle your faith!
VI. They cost nothing!
