Bira’s Latest Beers Are Just What You Need This Weekend

Homegrown Staff

It was a quiet invasion but then there they were, on every shelf, table and bartop in the country, Bira 91 the malted hero of the Indian beer industry. They even entered politics when they were elected as the alcoholic beverage of choice for the United Nations North Delegates Lounge. Starting off with the original White and Blonde they rose to rule the roost and now they’re back with two new, incredible varities, Strong and Light.

Though the names are pretty self explanatory, we’ll spell it out for those of you already on your third pint. The Bira Light has a mere 90 calorie content which puts it below most alcoholic beverages and even some juices. Perhaps this is the cleanse beverage of the future? Don’t expect Bira’s signature flavour here though, for a slimmer waistline, some sacrifices had to be made. As for the Bira Strong, it contains a respectable 7% abv which will ensure that you spend less to get drunk faster.

These beers are retailing in outlets across Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Goa and Bangalore so if you haven’t tried them, head down to your local wine shop and pick yourself up a mid-week pick-me-up!
