Experience A New Way To Travel With These Capsule Hotels Across India

Ava Gilder

Pod hotels or capsule hotels are still a relatively new concept to Indian citizens. When we think of a hotel we think of luxury, opulence, and of free breakfast buffets. But as travel opportunities increase post-pandemic, our idea of what a hotel is is slowly changing too. Developed in Japan, a pod hotel or capsule hotel features a large number of small bed-sized pods, that come fully equipped with amenities that we would find at a regular hotel — small screens, wi-fi, air conditioning and/or heating, etc. It acts most effectively for travellers on the go, providing basic and affordable accommodation for people who have a quick overnight stay, or just a few hours to kill. Here’s a look at a few new up-and-coming pod hotels across the country.
