There is a hint of hypocrisy tainting this decision, considering only last October Khattar announced that while Muslims could continue to live in this country, they would have to give up eating beef since 'the cow is an article of faith here'. We are then forced to question why laws are created disregarding dietary concerns of diverse communities within the country that also consider beef to be staple, but such courtesies are readily shown to our visitors.
