Dance music in India is evolving rapidly, and Su Real is at the forefront of that revolution. The old divisions – Bollywood, commercial, trance – no longer make sense. Su Real represents this new breed of Indian music producers who create and curate for the modern Indian dancefloor. Returning to India in 2008 after a decade as a P.R. specialist in New York and Montreal, Su Real has been working tirelessly to push the limits of India’s dance music and nightlife scene. Su Real first gained notoriety in 2010 by founding Disco 31 at T.L.R., the weekly dance party that lit up Delhi’s Hauz Khas Village long before it became the seminal nightlife destination it is now. By 2013, Rolling Stone India declared “Su Real is the legendary secret ingredient to some of Delhi’s recent favorite underground sets/parties/combinations thereof.” Su Real harnesses a wealth of experience to deliver dance parties that are both physical and mental workouts. Never slave to any genre, Su Real’s DJ sets surprise with seamless slides from modern hits to yesterday’s classics. Su Real stays on top of latest nano-genres in global bass (Trap, Twerk, Moombahton, Kuduro, Jumpstyle, etc.), blending them into the entire history of recorded dance music - hip-hop, dancehall, R&B, house, techno, jungle, and so on. As a producer, he melds these varied extracts with doses of desi masala like folk instrumentation and retro Bollywood vocals. Su Real’s inclusive approach to music ensures his status as a champion of the underground who can also whip a main-stage crowd into absolute panty-dropping hysteria. Su Real’s official releases are accumulating into a veritable catalog. From The Grind E.P. (2013) to Trapistan L.P. (2014) to Brown Folks E.P. (2015) to Twerkistan L.P. (2016), Su Real demonstrates an artistic development that shows no signs of slowing down. After signing with Krunk for artist management and booking in 2014, Su Real established himself as a fixture on the domestic circuit with a non-stop touring schedule all over India. He has shared the stage with a virtual who’s who of dance music today: Skrillex, Major Lazer, Nucleya, Yellow Claw, Borgore, Noisia, Flux Pavillion, Pretty Lights, Michal Menert, Alo Wala, Humble the Poet, Julius Sylvest, Doc Daneeka, and many more. Su Real has performed at Sunburn (Goa 2014 & 2015), NH7 Weekender (Pune, Bangalore, Calcutta and Delhi), MTV Bloc Party (Mumbai), VH1 Supersonic Arcade (Delhi), Worli Festival (Mumbai), and India Bike Week (Goa) amongst others.

What he has to say about it: Celebrating 4/20 with this 4 hour 20 minutes mixtape commissioned by HOMEGROWN.CO.IN as part of their special features for today - but I’m sure you can toke to this mix any time of the year as there’s plenty of purple-green sticky mashed up in there #grindin!! Mostly hip hop but pretty diverse session with reggae, R&B, trap, club, jazz, and all kinds of other genres thrown in there milling about with a bunch of comedy skits and a little sound art fuckery... all to do about the doobie doobie doo... hope you have as much fun listening as I did making it!Good ol’ excuse to dust off the Mixcloud after a while!!
