We all know of various Indian artists who grew up abroad and have made a mark in the music landscape globally like – Jai Paul, Prashanth Mistry from Engine Earz Experiment, Heems from Das Racist to name a few. In recent times we have seen a Delhi based musician called KAOS (Rohan Chauhan) who has struck the ears of international music curators like UKF and the likes.
His music has been heard over a million times on the internet music landscape and has played at various music festivals in the UK & Europe, and this is just the beginning for Rohan. The first half of 2013 saw KAOS working hard at the studio, writing his debut EP and remixing the likes of Professor Green, Naughty Boy and Ella Eyre. His genre defying track ‘Come Alive” has gained him a great deal of attention and support from labels such as Mad Decent, Trapdoor and Relentless.
Now he is the first Indian signing on Flux Pavillion’s Circus Records, where he will be releasing his debut EP later this year. His music has been played on numerous radio stations in the UK and his tracks have been included in compilations by Ministry of Sound too.
We have been tracking his musical journey for 2 years now and decided to get him to make us a set for #HGSessions.
This is what he had to say about his set : “This mix is very similar to my live sets, with recent tracks that I quite like along few of my all time favourites. It stars off with my upcoming single “8 Bit Love” and ends with a snippet from my the classic movie “Human Traffic”. The mix is sprinkled with some of my original tracks that you might be familiar with. If not, then I hope you like them and share them with your friends. Seriously, I need more people in my home country to know about them! Haha. “
