Indian & Global Designers Create Fundraiser Video Campaign To Fight COVID-19

Homegrown Staff

The current lockdown has been going on for more than two months with no sign of relief. This move has affected small and medium enterprises- manufacturing units, artists, creators- daily wage earners and freelancers in an unprecedented way.

We, as a society, are always looking for organisations that help the less fortunate communities of our country during such a crisis. In times like this, several organisations have come forward with unique campaigns such as Gaming For Good, Hasiru Dala amongst many. Even the smallest donation goes a long way in helping the bigger cause.

India Design Forum launches a fundraising campaign called IDF Creators for a Cause. This campaign aims to raise funds for the Akshaya Patra Foundation by creating inspirational videos for the work done by a collective creative community.

The videos aim at keeping people inspired through the COVID-19 crisis, while also bringing to their notice the efforts by Akshaya Patra to support vulnerable sections of our society who continue to be adversely affected and for whom this lockdown can be a matter of life or death. All proceeds from the campaign go directly to Akshaya Patra Foundation.

This is a Creator’s collective where the IDF Fraternity across the globe - Designers, Artists, Creators, and Friends of IDF have come forward to endorse their support for Akshaya Patra’s continued work in ensuring that the most vulnerable sections of society are safe as we continue to battle Covid-19. One can choose to start by donating an amount as low as Rs. 800 or $12, that can help feed a family for 21 days.

Akshaya Patra Foundation

Akshaya Patra has been aiding the Government’s efforts by providing food relief to vulnerable communities such as migrant labourers, daily-wage workers, and the homeless. The Foundation is doing this through its network of kitchens and delivery vehicles, working closely with the Government of India, State Governments and other civic organisations. Along with partners, donors and volunteers, Akshaya Patra has served over 1 crore meals to people in need thus far, but they are still working towards ensuring that every vulnerable community gets the help they need to survive this crisis.
