Jammu Hip-Hop Artist Shen B’s Latest Single Explores Loss In An Apocalyptic World

Samiksha Chaudhary

A breakout artist in his own right, Jammu’s multifaceted hip-hop artist Shayaan Bhat aka Shen B dons many caps – from poet, producer, rapper, and a terrific drummer.

Most of his songwriting borrows from his personal experiences while growing up. With his DIY production knowledge, he was able to release 10 tracks in a span of one year during the internet clampdown in J&K.

His debut EP ‘Zamaana’ too borrowed from his experiences of leading a hard life, being bullied, and coming into your own with the message of letting the simplicity of life survive at the core of it.

Now in his latest RnB and hip-hop single Colder, he tells a tale of love, loss, and the void in between. He explores these themes through a music video that is directed by Wikki Koul and imagines a post-nuclear apocalyptic world. Contrasting between the past and present, the music video explores the theme of love and loss and how a person tries to make sense of it all.

As introspective and illuminating as always, the single fuses elements of RnB into his signature hip-hop style thus giving a softer and smoother flow to his rap.

In a lead-up post to his single, Shen B says, “If you know the pain of being apart from someone you love, these words are for you.”
