Love Astronomy? Mumbai’s IARC Is Offering A Course In Astrobiology!

Homegrown Staff

Have you ever wondered what is lurking in the deep dark abyss of space? Perhaps you’ve wanted to walk on alien soil? Or maybe you just want to know a little more about the universe that surrounds you, and of course every child, at some point or the other, has dreamed of being an astronaut. The place for all these people to keep that dream alive is Mumbai’s Indian Astrobiology Research Centre (IARC).

Astrobiology is the study of the origin, evolution and distribution of life in the universe, and even probes into the possibility of extraterrestrial life. The IARC is an autonomous scientific body that conducts and encourages theoretical research in the field, and they also offer education and outreach initiative-related opportunities, such as externships, volunteership and freelance opportunities.

The IARC has aligned their curriculum with NASA’s research in Astrobiology Strategy so the diplomas acquired here are valid across the world. They will cover everything from the origin of life to the possibility of little green men and if your space-thirst still isn’t quenched, they are even planning diploma courses in other fields of study such as Astronomy & Cosmology, Space Sciences and Evolution.

So if the limitations of Earth are getting you down, or if you’d just like to expand your horizons, head to IARC or check out their series of workshops to begin exploring the cosmos.
