Earlier today, an under-construction flyover near Ganesh Talkies in North Kolkata collapsed, killing at least 15 and injuring about 50 more. The site of this tragic event is a densely populated area in Barabazar, prompting the belief that many might still be trapped under the debris.
Cancelling a political rally for the upcoming State Assembly polls, Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee arrived at the site. The Indian Army and teams of the NDRF have been deployed to help with rescue operations.
