Stay At Jaipur’s 28 Kothi For A Taste Of The Luxe Life

Tansha Vohra

If the Pink City is nestled somewhere in between all your travel plans for the year, we’ve found just the place to stay at for when you’re in need of pure, aesthetic pleasure. Located in the heart of Jaipur City, 28 Kothi is a 5-room boutique guest house for the luxe traveller. The brainchild of Sidharth Kasliwal, owner of Gem Palace and Hot Pink, and Abhishek Honawar, partner at Neighbourhood Hospitality that owns Woodside Inn and The Pantry.

The property was initially being constructed under Sidharth’s father, Munnu Kasliwal, a renowned jewellery designer. The idea was to create a haven for designers from around the world who came to Jaipur to study the fine art of jewellery design. Georges Floret, a french architect, made initial changes to the structure while Jaipur-based Lebanese designer, Nur Kaoukji, fashioned the interiors.

Each of the five rooms is named after a gem, and naturally takes after the qualities inherent to each stone. The lattice windows allow for plenty of that gorgeous desert sun to come in, and you can expect minimal but tasteful art gracing the walls of the rooms. Look around, and you’ll be sure to find Ecuadorian chocolate, aloe juice and quinoa puffs tucked away in corners of the rooms. There are plenty of murals on the walls for you to find a nook for yourself and your book, and some of the rooms even have private balconies and seating areas.

Breakfast, lunch and dinner are all served on the front lawns, and their library is the perfect spot for any work that you may need to get done. They also have a curated list of magazines that are sure to make for some great reading. Their rooftop is perfect should you want to laze about on a classic grandfather chair, or enjoy a private dinner setup under the desert sky. For all spa junkies, they’ve got a special spa for inhouse guests using natural products made by Pahadi Local. They also have ashtanga yoga classes for all those who need a good morning stretch and wake up call. The best part, however, is Cafe Kothi. They offer a completely vegetarian, seasonal menu that changes on a daily basis. The menu has a distinct mediterranean influence, and they’re keeping it as fresh as it could ever be.

The rooms are available for INR. 4,600 upwards, and they can even arrange a special rate for those who want to stay on a long term basis (this included rates on all their amenities as well). For all those heading to the desert state, don’t say we never told you!
