Love Sriracha? Head To This Hot Sauce Fest In Mumbai

When people collectively come together to celebrate something in India, it involves a riot of colour, revelry, and of course a ton of damn good food. Now, imagine a festival that’s purely dedicated to a bottle that promises you the same — right to the end of this month. India’s love for spice is no secret, so when Raj Impex brought the world’s coolest hot sauce ‘Huy Fong Foods Sriracha’ to India last year, they knew they had pure gold on their hands. Building on the love the sauce has garnered worldwide and now in India, they’re hosting a Sriracha-themed festival!

Roping in celebrity chefs Kelvin Cheung and Chef Boo Kim, the festival which began on August 16 sees a menu inspired by the one and only Sriracha. They don’t just stop at normal dishes though, the duo have gone on to incorporate Sriracha in their cocktails as well as their dessert! Think Sriracha Bloody Mary, Sriracha Kimchi Michelada and a Sriracha Lava Cake — it really doesn’t get more intense than this. Considering their main aim was to show India the versatility of the world’s most loved hot sauce, we can hands down say they’ve succeeded.

“We understand that people think of it as more of a condiment than an actual ingredient. That’s what we want to showcase through this festival though. Sriracha can often become your hero ingredient in various dishes! We’re now collaborating with restaurants around the country and getting people to experience the hot sauce in various different cuisines,” says Raj Sablok, the man we have to thank for Sriracha in India.

If you want to indulge in your love for all things Sriracha, head to One Street Over! Their Hot Sauce Festival is on till August 31. Follow their Facebook page for more updates.
