Nappa Dori’s Mumbai Store Is Capturing The Nostalgia Of Forgotten India

Homegrown Staff

If you’re one for leather notebooks, eclectic trunks, and handcrafted goodness, we’ve got good news for you. Shortly after celebrating it’s 6th birthday, Nappa Dori finally comes to Mumbai. This company is a tribute to quintessential Indian sensibilities blended perfectly with contemporary interpretations. The name itself directly translates into “Leather and thread” and their store perfecty captures the nostalgia of a forgotten India.

The space boasts of a magnificent entrance, with tall french windows and an elegant high ceiling inside. Nappa Dori’s handcrafted products, each a collector’s edition in it’s own right, span across the entire space, organized by collection. The stationery and DIY goods, our personal favourite section, has it’s own corner while the mezzanine floor is reserved for home decor.

Besides revelling in the midst of these leather products and travel accessories, Nappa Dori plans to elevate your shopping experience. A section of the till is dedicated to a soon opening Cafe Dori, serving various varieties of coffee to accompany you as you walk around. The mezzanine upstairs is going to be converted into a sitting space where you can pause, take a seat and make your way through pages of Indie magazines, all set to be on sale at the store.
