On Easter Sunday, April 21st, coordinated attacks occurred in Sri Lanka targeting churches and hotels leading to a series of horrifying explosions. As of publication nearly 300 people are reported dead and over 500 are injured. Sri Lankan government has blamed radical Islamic terror organisation, National Thowheeth Jama’ath. A dusk to dawn curfew has been declared in the capital city of Colombo. The government has also shut down social media and messaging services including Facebook and WhatsApp to control the spread of false information. Here’s how you can help :

• If you happen to be in Sri Lanka, you can see the nearest blood donation centre near your location.
• The Sri Lanka National Blood Transfusion has also released an alert seeking blood donation for hospitals.
• You can also donate blood and funds to organisations like IFRC Asia Pacific, Sri Lanka Red Cross an American Red Cross.
• You can also volunteer in person with international initiatives like Volunteer Sri Lanka.
