This Online Library Will Bring Its Rare Books Right To Your Doorstep

Cara Shrivastava

Today, our world survives on convenience—if you provide a service that makes an individual’s life 10% easier, you’re sitting on a possible gold mine. Which is why, we’re surprised a service like ‘Librarywalla’ isn’t more popular. Bookworms rejoice, for now you can have access to an online library! No, we don’t mean e-books; YES, we know those are a thing, but Librarywalla is a physical online library; a library whose books you can avail of even if you’re too busy to ever visit. The concept is ideal for someone who still believes in the beautiful comfort a paperback book provides over the cold metal surface of the device you read an e-book on.

Librarywalla, started way back in 2008 and claims to be India’s largest online book rental service, with over 75,000 books in their inventory, spread across multiple categories. Membership costs INR 499, and according to the plan you pick, you can read upto 12 books a month! You can even gift a membership to a friend, which the website aptly says, is a gift that is ‘never fattening, seldom sinful, and permanently personal.’

Sure, going to an actual library is great, especially if you crave the solitude. However, here’s a library that you don’t have to scour for books, all you have to do is type a book’s name into the search bar, and hit enter. Plus, what could be better than curling up in your own bed with a book, over the weekend?
