After a year spent almost without any live performances and return tickets in sight, music festivals were starting to feel like a relic of the past, a reminder of a pre-COVID world where things could be enjoyed without the trappings of safe distance. But the fun of music festivals lies in screaming the lyrics of your favourite artist’s song with your friends and indulging in the food and daze of it all. Much to the delight of music- lovers, the world is once again opening up to concerts, live performances and music festivals. Add to that the option of attending a concert at two place at the same time and place, seems unreal right? Well, we have just the music festival for you.
North East Music fest ‘Trippin’ is a two-day music festival in Morjim, Goa. Starting 6 March and going up to 7 March, this festival will allow you to indulge in delicious North-East food while listening to an amazing lineup of your favourite musicians from the Hills Of North East.
The lineup consists of Mizo folk band Sound From The Hills, roots and reggae band Dewdrops, Shillong-based rappers Leo Boys, Shillong-based rock band Blue Temptation, Dimapur musicians Alobo Naga and The Band, reggae band The Lojal Collective, Bengaluru-based Nepali folk fusion rock band Gauley Bhai, Assamese rock band Daksha, and indie musician of ‘Bombay Dreams’ fame Taba Chake.
It’s not just the music of the North- East that’ll be set against the vibe of Goa, the flea market will also have a wide variety of cuisines from Nagaland, Assam and many more States. There will be pork in axone, beef in dry bamboo shoots and axone, chicken in bamboo shoots, mushrooms in bamboo shoots, axone and king chilli chutney, fried smoked pork and doh jem, vegetable green papaya khaar, aloo & tomato pitika, chicken with bamboo shoot and lentils and mutton korma among other things.
Ronnie Lahiri, one of the partners behind the space (Trip in Morjim), says, “I have always loved the beach, food, music and a slower pace, and thought to myself why not indulge in this lifestyle and share it with others too.” If this is your jam too, this is the #pawri to be at.
You can book your table for Trip Restobar Morjim at +91 9371843105. The charges for the same are Rs. 499.
