Watch: This Video Perfectly Illustrates Israel & Palestine's Complicated History Of Conflict

Homegrown Staff

As far as the conflict between Israel & Palestine is concerned, history has been on loop for far too long. With no ceasefire on the horizon, the news pouring out of the Gaza strip has managed to shock a desensitised world, with both armchair & onground activists coming together to affect opinions.
For our part, we’ve been seeing a lot of uninformed posts flooding our news feeds from people forming opinions based on half-read (and worse) facts usually making us question if they know anything about this crisis at all. This is not a new issue. It is a centuries-old cycle of conflict with a complex and repetitive cycle of problems. And while we don’t believe that it is a cause for shame to admit ignorance on some world issues (after all, Indian media is seemingly incapable of covering what’s important even in its own land) we definitely take issue with opinions based on a complete lack of knowledge about history in this case.
That’s why we felt the need to share this video with our readers. A 2012 animated short by one of our favourite writers, Nina Paley, which has start re-trending post the current Gaza turmoil. Known for her often satirical and almost appallingly humorous take on social issues, the video is bound to startle but it does send the right message home—this historical cycle of triggered violence has, and will continue to affect the lives of everyone in both lands for a long time to come.
