Hyper-Realistic 3D Sketches By This Mumbai College Student Are Incredible

Homegrown Staff

The only rule when you see a Nutella jar lying solitary, just waiting for you to stick a finger in it is--no rules! Except when it’s not really a jar at all and it turns out to be a hyper-realistic 3D drawing. Bit of a bummer until you get engrossed in the fact that this incredible talent is lying not-so-latent inside a 19-year-old Mumbai student and artist who has recently taken instagram by storm creating such illusions.

Sushant Rane is a currently a Bachelor of Arts student in Ramnarain Ruia college, who started sketching as a child and hasn’t stopped since. What seem like real objects on a piece of paper, these drawings come to life with Rane’s exceptional techniques and usage of light and shadows--excluding them from conventional doodles and illustrations.
Rane tells us that there is no language in which he can coherently explain the importance for art in his life and thus his motivations remain inexplicable. He began his realistic sketches series on Instagram six months ago and now has about 60,000 followers from all around the world. Beyond these series, he also enjoys drawing portraits and illustrating quirky designs.
