Photo Story: Indian Cinemas Through Katherine Newbegin's Lens

Back in 2010 & 2011, Photographer Katherine Newbegin decided to travel alone to India and begin a photo series on cinemas in the country. Most were still currently in use at the time she photographed them. In the bigger, more developed cities , she said that these ageing cinemas were harder to find because they were disappearing really quick in favour of the new multi-plexes like PVR, Fame and others, who do not have to pay taxes for three years
