Once the report came out on wednesday night that all 7 feet & 5 inches of Sim Bhullar will be entering the NBA draft from New Mexico, a series of good and bad responses followed. Good responses because at just 21 he is already 7.5 feet tall & weighs 355 pounds, thus making him the perfect bait for NBA team’s interest. Bad responses because according to certain pundits, their is a notion that feel his joints and feet are likely to break down sooner than the average centers’ would + the general feeling is that he needs another year of playing college ball for more seasoning, conditioning and training before he enters the big league. About Bhullar: He’s entering the NBA draft after a sophomore season where he averaged 10.4points , 7.8 rebounds & 3.4 blocks. He earned the WAC tournament's most outstanding player award for the second straight season and led the Aggies to NCAA tournament for the second straight year. If he manages to latch on with a team, he will be both the tallest player in the NBA as well as the first player of Indian descent in the NBA. This will potentially make him far more marketable than the typical rookie free agent. His 7feet, 3 inches tall brother Tanveer Singh also plays basketball at that level and is planning on staying in school for another year before entering the draft. We hope he makes it into a team either this year or the next year, as it will be great to see a player of Indian descent playing against the best basketball players in the world.
