Puma Creative Factory #LoveThyPlanet - Homegrown

Puma Creative Factory #LoveThyPlanet

In an initiative to make sustainability personal, global sports brand Puma has set up a creative platform to collaborate with Wildlife Works and Lumi to create a special range of organic tee’s and bags.

“Love Thy Planet” is an extension of Puma’s custom design story, which offers an explorative space for creative people to run wild with their imagination and have some fun.  Taste makers from alternative fields are asked to take a photo or create an illustration to answer the compelling question of what they love most on this planet or one thing they would like to save on this planet. The photo is then converted into prints and transferred onto special PUMA tees and bags.

The tie up with Wildlife Works for this year’s PUMA Creative factory consists of Wildlife Works employees, who are hired from the local community of the Kasigau Corridor REDD+ project in Kenya. These tribal’s of Rukinga are offered sustainable employment and job training in order to source income generation and bring an end to their cycles of poverty. Not only does this collaboration provide support to the tribal community but it also uses a revolutionary printing process to help influencers tell their “sustainability” stories.
The eco-friendly Lumiprint process is based on a photo-reactive vat dye manufactured by Lumi called Inkodye, which takes photography out of the darkroom and uses sunlight to print the tees and bags.  Once the participant is done with applying the Lumi ink, all they have to do is wait for it to dry in the sun!Combine this with the a few beers and the ambience of the Social Club, and you have yourself a worthwhile experience.
