Art, Antiques & Afternoon Naps At This Artist’s Studio In Jaipur

Anyone familiar with Jaipur can tell you that staying in the Pink City can put a serious dent in your account balance. While it has been, and always will be, a historically rich city that’s a must-visit for everyone, not all of us can afford to break the bank when it comes to finding a centrally-located and easy to find accommodation that suits the ethos of this cultural hub.

A little birdy recently told us about a hidden gem right in the heart of the city, an idyllic spot where you can escape, in the midst of the city pandemonium of tourists, traffic and heat.

Owned by Saskia and Tarpan Patel, this is a sculptor’s studio converted into a beautiful space filled with vibrant colours, art and antiques. Not to be completely cliche, but this cozy abode, designed by Saskia herself, truly lies as an oasis near the city centre.

So after a long day of seeing the numerous sites of the city, you can unwind with some tea in the outdoor seating area with its own little garden, and if you get bored but aren’t yet ready to hack it outside, you’re surrounded by a curated collection of books and artefacts to keep you engaged.

This home can accommodate three and has its own private entrance. Plus, it’s located in a residential area, so safety is not something you’ll need to worry about if you’re travelling alone. You can even visit the family’s private gallery just below the apartment, belonging to Tarpan’s father, a renowned sculptor. All this is at approximately INR 2200 a night, and after seeing the photographs of the studio we doubt you’ll need anymore convincing.
