This Monsoon, Take A Beautiful Waterfall Trek Just Outside Mumbai

Steaming cups of chai accompanied by crispy, hot samosas, decadent hot chocolate sipped on whilst reading a novel, jumping into puddles, or wrapping yourself up into a blanket burrito—the monsoons can mean different things to people. While some consider the weather perfect, let’s be honest, the rains in Mumbai can get quite messy. This mess doesn’t extend to every part of Maharashtra thankfully, a fact no one else knows better than Vagabond. Known for their outdoor escapes, they’ve teamed up with Camp Deogadh for their latest weekend getaway this Sunday, June 18, in Pawna.

“This is the fifth one we’re organising, we’ve done three overnight stays and two day events before this one,” said Elton Dmello, one of the organisers. Located right in front of Pawna Lake, Camp Deogadh is a campsite equipped with basic amenities and one heck of a view. The Pawna Escapade will be conducted out of this location itself.

“While most people assume the Escapade begins while we’re on our trek, it actually starts right from when we leave from Bombay, in our bus. We like to give people a wholesome experience, rather than just another trek,” explains Elton. Once you reach the camp, the Escapade begins with some breakfast followed by a trek up to Ticona, which they say isn’t too hard (but it isn’t easy either!) Lunch is back at the camp, followed by group activities, music and a swim in the lake.

While a private waterfall is one way to attract people’s attention, Vagabond’s events are popular because of their passion towards their events. “We want people to mingle, which is why we try really hard with our own group activities. They really do work though, because whether you’re a solo traveller or a group of friends, in the end you leave with even more!” Elton laughs.

Get yourself a ticket to the event, here. If you can’t make it to this event, Vagabond will definitely be hosting more soon. In fact, keep an eye out for their backpacking event in Arunachal Pradesh, in the future!
