Delhi, Trade In Your Preloved Pieces At A Fashion Swap This Weekend
SUSS

All those dreading to splurge during the festive season or those tired of overflowing cupboards threatening to burst, The Wardrobe of Stories is the answer to all your problems. This for That (TFT), India’s first fashion swapping platform, and SUSS, a community spearheading conversations about sustainable fashion, are collaborating and bringing to Delhi one of its biggest fashion ‘swap fests’ till date — The Wardrobe of Stories. This fun and fairly unique alternative to shopping is being organised with an aim to encourage people to swap and not shop with the hope of minimising the environmental degradation that takes place at the cost of the ever-expanding fashion industry. The event is being held during what is considered India’s festive period, which is also a time when retailers, irrespective of their field of trade, are said to make the most profits.

Nancy Bhasin, founder of TFT, started this venture while trying to find a cheaper and more sustainable alternative to shopping. TFT has also launched an app to expand their reach from just being based out of Delhi to the entire country. TFT also organises swap parties across Delhi NCR to familiarise people to the concept. SUSS or Sustainable Style Speak, co-founded by Gauri and Lavanya, began as a Facebook group looking to create awareness about sustainable fashion through collaborations with consumers, designers, writers, filmmakers and other creative professionals.

The Wardrobe of Stories is a women-only fashion swap that allows you to trade clothes, accessories and all-things-fashion at zero cost. The swap has certain guidelines that you need to follow to be able to participate in the exchange. The Wardrobe of Stories has no entry fees, but requires all those interested to RSVP on their Eventbrite page in order to participate. The best part about this fashion swap is that you are free to bring a swap buddy along.
