Mumbai, Bring Out Your Bibs Because Ministry Of Crab Is Finally Opening In Khar

Nothing quite compares to chomping on a wholesome, mouthwatering crab preparation without a proper bib around your neck and the guarantee of local, authentic flavours on your plate. For the longest time, Ministry of Crab has certainly owned the seafood experience. A Sri Lankan food-chain that has always been a celebration of Sri Lanka’s local heritage and culture, the restaurant operates out of a beautiful old Dutch complex in Colombo and is finally making its way to Mumbai.

The rumour emerged sometime in mid-2018 and ever since then, we’ve been at the edge of our seats. Ministry of Crab’s arrival in India is finally confirmed! Led by Dharshan Munidasa, the food chain will be opening its first Indian outlet in Mumbai on 10 February 2019, to be precise. Its arrival will be marked by a huge private party just a day before its doors open to the city’s residents - that is, 9 February 2019. So far, Conde Nast Traveller has reported that the restaurant will be replacing the Tribhovandas Bhimji Zaveri (TBZ) showroom in Khar.

Just like its name says, the restaurant specialises in a lot of crab. If you’ve visited the one in Sri lanka, you know what to expect and if you haven’t - then let this be your chance to try something new that’s definitely going to be worth it. And just so you make it in time and don’t have to wait for too long, make sure to get a reservation beforehand. The restaurant will be taking reservations from 10 February, 2019.
