250 creative thinkers, 40 thought leaders and four days of ideas and inspiration – the F of X Festival was all of this and more. A one-of-its-kind creative movement designed by the creators of Roadtrip Experience Project & Beachhouse Project, this four-day residential forest festival was held at a beautiful getaway-spot in the Jim Corbett National Park.

The F of X philosophy is built on a concoction of a mathematical equation and a unique attribute. In the equation of F(x), x stands for one of the four things: the heart, the mind, the soul and the hand. To find yourself on the path to success, you are encouraged to discover your own x – and in the process, open yourself up to new ideas and perspectives.

Over the past few years, the Indian market has made way for creators. From tech startups to food pop-ups, people have found a way to intersperse creativity with traditional professions to do something truly out of the box. However, even with the rapid proliferation of creative initiatives across the country, there is a dearth of proper guidance as to how to go about it. The F of X Festival is built exactly for this purpose: to give bring together like-minded creators and enable them to learn more, do more. The festival catered to 150 carefully curated participants, each at a different juncture of their personal creative exploration and encouraged them to build their dreams from ground up – to find their own ‘x’, as they would call it. Over the four days, the line up boasted of speakers belonging to a range of professions – the likes of Manil Rohit, Deepak Ramola and Raghava KK. While the sessions allowed the participants to delve deeper into areas of creative interest such as making viral content, earning the buck as a freelancer and bagging creative projects; the workshops along the day used a more hands-on approach for the same. The entire festival was also sprinkled with activities such as stargazing, riverside walking, open mics and acoustic jams.

The festival looked at the various facets of creativity – and the obstacles that come with them. A shared space of laughter and learning, the festival offered the participants a sense of belonging as creators. Divya, one of the participants confides, “36 and married. People might say it’s too late to take a step and request you to play safe. I don’t want to be regarded as just another designer or a creator who did what was asked of her to be done. I know I’m a multipotentialite and this festival helped me realize I’m not wrong. I’m on the most fertile ground to collaborate and grow with some of the best minds in the country”.

For many others like Divya, the festival was a first step in realizing what drives them to create. A lesson in having faith in oneself, the F of X festival allowed the participants to be their most authentic self as creators. Bhoomi, a participant of the festival hailing from Gujarat, viewed an event of this sort as “a mirage”. The fact that the freedom of creative thinking seems almost impossible to so many people out there only proves how important such initiatives are. This is why Experience Co.’s effort in making something as intangible as creativity into an interactive event goes a long way in building a concrete space for creative fields in the Indian industry. With a hugely positive response from the participants, F of X is all set for their second edition of the event in 2020. Click here to apply!
