Queen Of The Arabian Sea: Short Film ‘Kochi’ Will Make You Want To Visit It Right Now
Aditya Panikker's 'Kochi'

Each one of us is guilty of a love affair with a particular city –– whether it be with home, or with a faraway land that managed to tug at your heartstrings. It’s a love that is hard to describe, and even harder to let go of.

Bringing out the nuance of this love is filmmaker Aditya Panikker, whose creation ‘Kochi’ is a visual insight into the city, its personality and all that it has to offer. Straying away from the expected, clichéd and age-old practice of addressing a city as a feeling or emotion, Aditya explains Kochi’s complexity in a span of one minute and 56 seconds.

In the film, Aditya says, “Kochi is not trying to be mysterious. She is just very aware of her charm,” and while we wish we had enough experience in the city to corroborate his opinion, it sure does make us want to visit and find out.

‘Kochi’ is not simply an overview of the city –– in fact, it is quite the opposite. While describing what the city can do to and for you, Aditya manages to give you something to think about –– is your love for the city as a city, or how it makes you feel?
