#HGStreams: ‘A Road To Heaven’ Transports You To Kashmir
Zafar Mehdi

Kashmir is a mysterious yet wondrous land. Its beauty is beyond the snap of a camera and its charm exceeds what one may describe. The culture whisks you away to a space of serenity, and the food –– don’t get us started on that.

Succeeding at capturing the essence of Kashmir is the short film, ‘A Road To Heaven’ by Zafar Mehdi. The film captures the little nuances of Kashmir –– from its locals to its scenic location. Building a firewood as it snows, a Kashmiri local sings the Pahadi song ‘Farooq’, after which Zafar’s filmmaking skills make way for us to revel in Kashmiri glory.

This beautifully shot and edited film, in a span of two minutes and 18 seconds conveys much about Kashmir –– from their quality of being grounded to the speed of their life. The absolute marvel that is Kashmir’s scenery plays an irreplaceable role, too.

‘A Road To Heaven’ is the kind of film one wishes to watch more than once –– not for the way it looks or sounds, but for the way it makes you feel.

Shot and edited by: Zafar Mehdi
