There’s a new addition to your possible Goa travel itinerary –– and it has everything to do with alcohol, but not much to do with partying.

If you feel like giving the beaches, shacks, and pubs a break, you can now head to the newly opened ‘All About Alcohol’ museum to explore the history and influencing culture of Goan brewing and alcohol. Businessman Nandan Kudchadkar focused on the ‘art of drinking’ and opened the doors to this 13,000 sq ft space in Candolim in North Goa.

Undeniably Goan, the museum places much importance (and rightly so) on Feni. From the process of production to distribution and consumption, All About Alcohol explores the world of Feni and presents it to you as no less than a story.

Nandan said to ANI, “When we come to India, we project alcohol differently. Following my instincts, I decided to set up India’s first museum dedicated to alcohol here.”

Thinking beyond Feni, too, the museum is home to various alcohol-related equipment and containers. According to The Indian Express, Goa-native Armando Duarte gives a 30-minute tour, after which the visitors get to taste Feni cocktails made by in-house mixologist, Lionel Gomes.

The next time you plan a trip to Goa, make time for All About Alcohol –– experience India’s first alcohol museum in all its glory, and take back some Feni knowledge, maybe along with the actual drink!
