Noni Mouse’s Latest Single Is An Emphatic Reflection Of Love & Co-Dependency

With 2021 shaping up a rather interesting pathway for underground music in India, left-of-centre sound artist Radhapriya Gupta aka Noni Mouse has discovered a shift in her sound. The artist whose earlier projects delved into the crevices of dance music and electronica harmonies have now shifted gears in the new year, owing to her latest experiments.

The latest track from her new EP, Saviour, is inspired by the effects of co-dependent relationships. The music video elevates the powerful lyrics with distinct visuals that depict the melancholy and revelations that one experiences in the grip of such relationships.

The songwriting embodies intimacy, vulnerability or lack thereof in such relationships that we all come across at differing stages of our life.

The track in several ways retains Gupta’s authentic production style with a parallel audio experiment that complements it.

The EP itself, Quasi, is a one-of-its-kind audio exploration for Gupta who is seen moving out into unchartered territories in her musical journey by melding dance music with pop anthems that aim to speak to a larger audience.

The official music video featuring Mumbai-based Gia Singh Arora and directed by Varun Pradhan is now streaming on Youtube. The visuals translate the internal turmoils and conflicts that the character faces within the hold of her relationship.

The attempts made by this music video to explore solitude and the inner ramblings of a persons mind might just be a very powerful yet relatable reflection of the solitary lives we are once again expected to lead.

The official music video for 'Saviour'.
