The world of knitwear is a frontier that's ripe for exploration and experimentation across the homegrown fashion landscape and that's preciesely what designer Meghana Kiran is attempting to do with her label — 'bitchandtwosticks'. We spoke to the designer to learn a little bit more about the enigma that is the label itself.

Tell us a little about this project.

Bicthandtwosticks is a menswear and knitwear label trying to bring a new approach to menswear by experimenting with prints, patterns, colours and textures.

What are some of your biggest inspirations and influences over the course of your artistic career so far?

I studied art history and wrote my thesis on the colour blue specifically related to Picasso's blue period. I also look at Art Deco for inspiration. BODE is a brand that started my artistic journey and laid the foundation for bitchandtwosticks. I am also a people watcher so I am also influenced by people around me and their different characteristics.

What are some things you learned while putting this project together?

I have learnt how to be patient and how important a team is. I have learnt how much potential something holds when people come together to build it.

Who are some artists who are currently on your radar?

Some artists on my radar are Channing Hansen and Alexandra Sipa.

Tell us about a project you wish you were a part of.

I wish to be a part of fashion exhibitions such as London Fashion Week, Paris Fashion week and Lakmé Fashion week.
