Portraits Of Nine Mumbai Dogs And The Humans That Walk Them

Working for an online magazine as their only photographer can get more hectic than you’d imagine. Especially at Homegrown where my job role has no boundaries, I end up feeling a little bit like Moses in middle of the editorial and marketing teams. And often enough these waves come crashing down on me. It is needless to say that I jumped at the opportunity to leave office midway on what all of Mumbai claims is a crisp winter evening to go take photographs of dogs being walked. I couldn’t help but feel great; I was actually getting paid to go and play with dogs by the sea. And capture a couple of special moments too.

They say that every dog has his day. Here are some dogs that have it their way, every single day.

I. Tyke

II. ACE

Sex: Male, Age: 1.5 years, Breed: Mini Pincher, Favourite time of the day: Ace loves everything, Favourite Spot: On the bed.

III. Nora

Sex: Female, Age: 1.5 years, Breed: White Retriever, Favourite time of the day: Morning
Favourite spot: In the drawing room.

IV. Sam

Sex: Male, Age: 6 years, Breed: Great Dane, Favourite time of the day: Sam is lazy at any point in the day, Favourite spot: He loves the fishing village.

V. Kaalu

Sex: Male, Age: 8 years, Breed: Mix of a Cocker Spaniel and a Stray, Favourite time of the day: Twilight, Favourite spot: Carter Beach. 

VI. Chase

Sex: Male, Age: 5 years, Favourite time of the day: Evening, Favourite spot: By the bed.

VII. Zlata

Sex: Female, Age: 8 months, Breed: Cocker Spaniel, Favourite time of the day: Whenever she gets to meet her other dog friends, Favourite spot: On the bed.

VIII. Carlos

Sex: Male, Age: 8 months, Breed: Mix of a Labrador and a Stray, Favourite time of the day: Evening, Favourite spot: Outside the main door of the house.

(Carlos suffers from paralysis in his left foreleg. He still runs faster than most dogs and is doing really well)

IX. Carlito

Sex: Male, Age: 2 years, Breed: Thick coated Chihuahua, Favourite time of the day: Whenever he is outside the house, Favourite spot: Tucked away tightly next to his human.
