Through a private member's bill, Lok Sabha Member of Parliament Shashi Tharoor aims to amend Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). As it stands today, Section 377, an archaic law, criminalizes any sexual intercourse that falls out of the ambit of penal-vaginal unions, considering such acts 'against the order of nature'.
