With the entire nation grappling with the horrors of the ongoing pandemic, the call for action to pool resources and help those in dire need has been met with mass activism and donation campaigns to help the community.
Heading the activation of funds and resources are creative companies who understand that there’s an unprecedented need for online fundraising now more than ever in these difficult times. This serves a larger cause, as organizations collectively transition their in-person events into virtual events dedicated to COVID-19 relief work, spin-up campaign pages for emergency funding, and work to keep the lights on during this global crisis.
Homegrown brings you a quick list of campaigns that contribute to the cause:
Arjun Vagale - SOS (Various Artists Charity Compilation)
Arjun Vagale, one of India’s most prolific DJ’s has stepped forward along with other artists including the likes of @dotdat, @kohra from the Indian electronic music community in aid of Hemkunt foundation to compile a mix of unreleased music that is available exclusively via Bandcamp. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to the Hemkunt Foundation, an NGO doing on-ground COVID-19 relief work and supplying oxygen to critical patients.

Origin One is a tiny homegrown bootstrapped brand that creates contemporary stationery, handmade rugs, and objects for the design-loving global nomad. In the wake of the pandemic, the label has decided to donate 100% of its profits from 30.04.2021 - 10.05.2021 to organisations actively making a difference namely, hemkunt foundation, goonj, feeding India.
The Olio Stories
The Olio Stories is a modern heirloom label run by women entrepreneur duo, Aashna Singh and Sneha Saksena. They kickstarted a donation drive for COVID-19 relief by donating 100% of the proceeds to organisations like khaanachahiye, Mcksfood, missionoxygenIndia, enrichlivesfoundation andhemkunt foundation.
The label managed to amass around INR 1,240,974 in donations which was 6x the target!
NORBLACKNORWHITE is exploring the space of culture and giving back to the community with its initiative called ‘SHOW UP FOR INDIA’. The initiative urges people to donate $30, $50 or $100 to foundations committed to supporting the country in these times of travesty like Mission oxygen, Give India, Care for Caregivers and Enrich Lives Foundation and promises which in return allows them to avail a gift card of the same value for contributing to the cause.
FTC X Lemonade
The ‘house for all’ that actively contributes to keep the current conversation going is not shying away from the call for action either! With a COVID-19 relief fundraiser ‘FOR THE COMMUNITY’, the creative house has joined hands with Lemonade, to host a livestream on 2 May, 2021. The entire proceeds of the initiative are directed towards organisations like Hemkunt foundation and Khalsa Aid.
