Attend Prithvi Theatre’s Upcoming Festival Celebrating The Art Of Drama & Performance

The vibrant presentation of life on stage, showcased in theatre and performance, soaks in the many colours of our culture to present some compelling narratives through the art of storytelling. While content on OTT platforms have provided some much needed relief in the times of lockdowns, it is time to witness the true beauty of performance in real time.

The iconic Prithvi Theatre is set to return with their annual festival after a hiatus of two years. The performances scheduled for the event will span over the period of 11 days, featuring around 40+ shows with over 13 theatre groups participating from around the country. Groups like the famous Ansh Theatre Group, Motley and Tibet Theatre are also scheduled to perform. 

The festival this year will witness a grand opening night with a performance by renowned musician Pooja Gaitonde. Additionally the event will see premier productions from directors like Makrand Deshpande, Naseeruddin Shah, Aakarsh Khurana, Manoj Shah, Vinay Kumar, Abhishek Majumdar, Bhushan Korgaonkar and Vikram Kapadia.

Expanding in the area of art, Prithvi will be welcoming a dance performance presented by Bijayini Satpathy, who will be re-imagining classical Odissi forms through modern interpretation. A performance by Pelva Naik, a solo Indian classical vocalist of the ancient genre of classical music 'Dhrupad'. Lastly a western classical music acoustic concert by Symphony Orchestra of India. 

The festival will be taking place from 3rd-14th November.
