The CIMA Art Mela has been a mainstay in Kolkata's cultural calendar since its inception in 2010. Back then, it was the first art fair of its kind in the country, showcasing affordable artworks by some of India's best emerging and established artists. The idea was to make art more accessible to ordinary Indians, and it resonated with Kolkata's art-minded middle class.

Now in its fifteenth year, the CIMA Art Mela is no longer limited to Kolkata. With successful editions in Mumbai and New Delhi in recent years, the CIMA Art Mela has become a truly national event in India's art calendar. This March, the CIMA Art Mela returns to the Visual Art Gallery, India Habitat Centre, New Delhi, for its fourth edition in the national capital.
