Have you or someone you know recovered from COVID, but still have a repository of medicines that they can afford to donate?
Medneed India is an initiative which was started on April 29, 2021 with an intention to connect individuals to donate their leftover COVID medications to someone in desperate need. India is facing a massive shortage of medications due to a sudden surge in infections; hence getting access to the right kind of medication is now one of biggest challenges faced by COVID patients. To bridge the gap the organisation reached out to the masses and their families who have recovered from COVID in the past and requested them to donate/share their unused medicines to help someone in need. They are also connecting people to verified chemists in order to help them get the medicines.
In only 120 hours they received over 500 requests for medication, 250+ donations. 65+ direct connections in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata etc. and 1000+ followers to help with their endeavour, all through social media.
Here is a list of some of the medicines you can donate:
Ivermectin
Medrol
Azithromycin
Dolo 650
Fabiflu
Montair LC
Favipiravir
Pan D
Multivitamins
Besides steroids and SOS drugs, you can also donate basics like Paracetamol and vitamins from your repository. These medicines will be donated to gurudwaras, temples and organisations that are helping the less fortunate.
