Sometimes we can reach faraway places through our taste buds even when our feet can’t take us. Authentic gastronomical delights tend to have this tantalizing effect. For instance, even though one might not have the time or money to travel to Mexico, they can always do so through the smoky depths of chipotle peppers or the zesty kick of fresh lime. The rich, velvety mole sauce dances on the palate while the sizzle of perfectly seasoned fajitas fills the air with an irresistible aroma, or basking in the comforting warmth of a steaming bowl of pozole or the crispy perfection of a freshly fried churro — authentic culinary preparations have a charming teleportation appeal to all food lovers.
Today, I am going to tell you about a culinary event that has all the perfect mouthwatering concoction of flavors, colors, and aromas to transport you to the heart of Mexico. Mexican cuisine enthusiasts in Mumbai are no strangers to the restaurant, Mezcalita. Inspired by the connoisseur’s version of a Margarita, Mezcalita is a vibrant cantina, led by the most delightful Hermano in India, Chef Pablo Benitez, a former academician turned food anthropologist with a passion for pre-colonial Mexicano cuisine. He is the perfect guide as you travel through the rich tapestry of Mexico's culinary heritage.
Mezcalita is now all set to have its first pop-up ever next weekend in Bangalore. It features a delicious nine-course meal that boasts veritable Mexican cuisine with no holds barred on flavour, texture or storytelling. The good folks of Bangalore ought to expect exclusive dishes that are not on the restaurant’s regular roster.
